Purpose of the assignment
To ensure effective programme implementation of the UNICEF Country Programme Document, increase UNICEF visibility and build effective partnerships with private sector the consultant on Partnerships and Fundraising Consultant (hereinafter – Consultant) will be hired.

The Partnerships and Fundraising Consultant is a creative, dynamic and exciting role. You will be responsible for building and growing relationships with some of the most exciting donors and partners based in Almaty.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Partnerships Officer and in close cooperation with the Communications Specialist, the Consultant will assist UNICEF Kazakhstan Country Office in (1) designing and implementing campaigns /events to increase UNICEF’s visibility and mobilize new partners (2) communicating with business and individuals to secure high-value opportunities (3) creating innovative communication/fundraising solutions in support of UNICEF in Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Strategy.

Scope of Work:
The consultant will be responsible for the below workstreams:

Together with other UNICEF colleagues consultant is responsible to support organization of high-level events jointly with partners/business to promote awareness about child rights, increase visibility of UNICEF, and build partnerships. Among other events, it will include preparation of the Gala dinner, preparation of the meetings of the Business Advisory Council based in Almaty.

Outreach and follow up with potential donors and partners
- Establish good connections with strategic private sector companies based in Almaty
- Follow up and action on meetings, events and emails with donors – approximately 15-20 follow ups per week.
- Follow up and action on meetings, events and emails with at least ten partnerships related to fundraising (e.g. collectives and collaboratives at global, regional and national levels) - approximately 4-5 follow ups a month

Events related to current and future donor relations
- Develop a calendar of important events and conferences and strategic prioritization of these based on changing priorities (of all involved entities).
- Draft concept note and action plan for organization of the event – documents are prepared 6 months in advance of the event;
- Support with the logistics, preparation and organization of the event in line with the instructions of the Communication Specialist and Partnerships Officer.
- In close consultation with the Communications Specialist and Partnerships Officer provide support in organization of other events and partnership opportunities – at least 2 events are organized with businesses based in Almaty till the end of the contract.

Facilitation of partnership with business companies based in Almaty
- Support with customer-based fundraising with big company – coordinate at the technical level assets, targets, etc.
- Promote family-friendly policies with companies based in Almaty – at least 2 companies in Almaty engaged for family-friendly policies
- Prepare Business Advisory council meetings in Almaty - at least 3 meetings are organized

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
• Education: Marketing, Public Relations, International Relations, Management, or a similar field.
• Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in event management, public relations, marketing, project management, partnership development
- Experience of organising charity events will be a strong asset
- Fluency in written and spoken Russian, working knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of Kazakh language is a strong asset.
- Highly developed communication and partnership skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to contribute to a team.
- Experience of working with sponsors and influencers
- Experience with a communications campaign across multiple mediums
- Prior working experience with UN agency is an asset.
