Health, Safety Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor

Key Accountabilities

1. Provide timely and accurate HSW and Quality advice and hands-on support to country operations regarding SJ’s project compliance requirements and tools;
2. Engage proactively with stakeholders to deliver planned HSW improvements and to develop individual and organisational capability for achieving successful project compliance and quality outcomes;
3. Conduct monitoring, reporting and assurance activities to keep stakeholders informed about the status of HSW compliance and performance; project compliance and quality management in country;
4. Analyse evidence collected from assurance activities and actively identify and address performance gaps, including by making recommendations to continually improve HSW performance and improve project compliance and quality.

EDUCATION, ACCREDITATIONS & FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree or post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline (OHS)
2. Internal auditing qualification (ISO 9001, 14001 and/or ISO 45001),
3. Certificate IV – Training and Assessment, (desirable).​​​​​​​

EXPERIENCE

1. Typically, minimum five (5)+ years of experience in an operational Quality and two (2)+ years in HSE role in relevant industries.
2. Experience with engineering and project management/delivery processes (desirable)
3. Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining certified management systems (desirable)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE​​​​​​​

1. Understanding of commercial business drivers;
2. Sound knowledge of management systems;
3. Sound knowledge of relevant ISO standards;
4. Ability to effectively communicate with others;
5. Ability and coach, train and facilitate;
6. Strong time management skills;
7. Effective written and verbal communication skills in English;
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft suite and SharePoint (desirable).
