Overview:
Coventry University Kazakhstan is looking for an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our growing team. As part of our international expansion, we are launching a campus in Astana, Kazakhstan, offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
The IT Support Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure, providing technical assistance to staff, and ensuring the smooth functioning of hardware, software, and network systems.
Main Responsibilities:

English level: Intermediate or higher.

Install and upgrade software and hardware components.

Manage user accounts in a hybrid environment (AD on-premise + Entra ID).

Administer and troubleshoot email services (Office 365).
-
Assist with network administration, including basic IP/DNS/DHCP troubleshooting.
-
Configure and maintain network printers.
-
Understand basic networking concepts, including switches and their role in IT infrastructure.
-
Perform cable management tasks, including crimping RJ45 connectors.
-
Secure data storage and implement security protocols to prevent potential threats.
-
Monitor and evaluate IT systems to ensure they meet organizational needs.
-
Document processes, back up data, and develop recovery procedures.
-
Provide support and training to staff regarding IT systems and software usage.
-
Ensure optimal use of hardware and software, enhance system performance, and keep track of technological trends.

Collaborate with IT managers and other departments on various projects.
Supervision:
Reports to: Director of IT & E-Learning
Supervises: Academic and Professional Services staff
Key Qualifications and Skills:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in IT support.
-
Proficiency in IT helpdesk software.
-
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
-
Ability to provide technical support, resolve queries, and train end-users.
-
Experience with Active Directory (on-premise) and Entra ID.
-
Basic knowledge of networking (IP/DNS/DHCP).
-
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting network printers.
-
Understanding of switch functionality and network infrastructure.
-
Ability to crimp RJ45 cables and perform basic cable management.
-
Familiarity with database maintenance and system security.
-
Effective communication skills, able to work in a team and independently.
