Director of Data & Industry Analysis Department

AIFC Authority is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Director of Data & Industry Analysis Department. This role is responsible for overseeing departmental operations, industry analysis, stakeholder engagement, and data governance. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in economic research, policy analysis, and team leadership to drive data-driven decision-making within our organization.

Key responsibilities

Department management:

• Lead and coordinate departmental activities to align with organizational objectives.

• Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and processes to enhance efficiency.

• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.

• Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and adherence to internal policies.

• Provide management reports, performance insights, and strategic recommendations.

Data Governance and reporting:

• Manage the publication of analytical materials on AIFC platforms to enhance visibility.

• Centralize data governance across the organization to ensure data consistency and quality.

• Oversee internal operational reporting, including monthly KPI updates for senior management.

Industry Analysis and reporting:

• Supervise research and reporting on economic trends and industry developments.

• Oversee monitoring of national and regional industrial strategies, policies, and projects.

• Provide insights and recommendations on economic complexity and diversification initiatives.

• Lead the development of economic models, macroeconomic reports, and industry studies.

Stakeholder engagement:

• Foster collaboration with AIFC structural units, government authorities, and external stakeholders.

• Drive engagement with financial institutions, think tanks, consulting firms, and private sector entities.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations, and relevant legislative requirements.

People management:

• Build and maintain a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and professional development programs.

• Set departmental KPIs, conduct performance appraisals, and provide continuous feedback.

• Promote a strong corporate culture aligned with the organization's vision and values.

• Encourage knowledge-sharing and best practices within the department.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• At least 7 years of experience in governmental bodies, quasi-public companies, consulting, or financial organizations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with advanced statistical tools (e.g., STATA) is preferred.

• High ethical standards and a commitment to professionalism.

• Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
