A subsidiary of Emiral Resources, Alliance for Mining, is looking for a Government Relations (GR) Manager to join our team in Port Sudan. Emiral Resources is an international group of companies engaged in mining exploration and production in various parts of Africa (the Republic of the Sudan, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania) that offers proven expertise in the mining value chain from mineral exploration, production, operation, advisory, and also engineering for mining industry.

Position: GR Manager

Location: Port Sudan

Required skills and experience:

  • Higher education (Law, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field).
  • 3-5 years of experience in government relations (GR), preferably in the mining, energy, or resource sector.
  • Strong knowledge of national legislation and regulatory frameworks governing the industry.
  • Proven negotiation skills and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in developing and implementing GR strategies.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with government authorities to ensure smooth business operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the company in ministries, governmental agencies, local authorities, and other public institutions.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in legislation affecting the mining and geological exploration sector, providing timely updates on risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit necessary documentation for obtaining licenses, permits, and other regulatory approvals.
  • Participate in negotiations with government authorities, shareholders, partners, and contractors on regulatory and policy matters.
  • Facilitate the development of new projects and investment initiatives by engaging with relevant government bodies.
  • Organize and participate in industry-related forums, meetings, and working groups focused on government relations and public policy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, minimizing legal and reputational risks for the company.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Finance, HR, Procurement & Supply) to align operations with regulatory frameworks.
  • Prepare regular reports on government relations activities and legislative developments.
