Manager of Data and Industry Analysis Department

The Astana International Financial Centre Authority is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Manager of Data and Industry Analysis Department to join our team and contribute to impactful economic research and policy initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analysis on the real economy, preparing insightful reports and recommendations.
• Monitor and assess national and regional industrial strategies, policies, development plans, and projects.
• Contribute to the development of proposals aimed at enhancing economic complexity and diversification.
• Prepare project-specific macroeconomic reports, chartbooks, and case studies.
• Assist senior team members in data collection and analysis.

Stakeholder engagement & policy development:

• Collaborate with AIFC structural units, bodies, and organizations under the supervision of the Director.
• Engage with government authorities and provide recommendations for national and regional development programs.
• Work with external organizations, including international financial institutions, think tanks, consulting firms, and private sector stakeholders, to support the AIFC’s development.
• Ensure compliance, confidentiality, and accuracy in procurement documentation.
• Adhere strictly to AIFC’s internal policies, regulations, and relevant legislation.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications & requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Public Policy, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Professional experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in state bodies, quasi-public institutions, consulting, international or financial organizations.

Language Skills:

Proficiency in Kazakh, Russian, and English (mandatory).

Technical skills:

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with advanced statistical packages (e.g., STATA) is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Strong analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to present and communicate findings effectively.
• Well-organized with strong follow-up skills to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
